In extreme winds, roof failure can occur without a window or door failure, particularly around eaves, ridges, and overhangs where wind can produce twice the uplift pressure causing the roof to fail. Similarly, once a window or door fails, pressure inside the building can also double causing walls to collapse and roofs to blow-off.

FOAMSEAL is a polyurethane adhesive that can be applied to both existing and new construction roofs. The adhesive is applied at the truss joints and sheathing seams by a certified applicator. (The exterior of the roof is not disturbed during the application.)

Sprayed as a liquid, FOAMSEAL quickly hardens into a water-tight seal that strengthens the structural integrity of a building while acting as a secondary water barrier between the plywood sheets on a roof to reduce potential leakage should shingles blow-off during a hurricane. The strong adhesive nature of FOAMSEAL will help a roof stay in place by increasing uplift resistance where nails alone may fail to keep the roof intact.

Insulation. We also manufactures a spray on insulation product that is applied in a similar manner to FOAMSEAL, but with a different material content. This product, KOOLSEAL 200, can be applied in conjunction with FOAMSEAL, resulting in a hurricane fortified, well insulated roofing system. Consumers will benefit from greater energy efficiencies and lower utility costs, and may be eligible as well for special energy rebates from their local energy provider.
