Beware of any company that claims that window films comply with the Florida Building Code or that they satisfy the wind mitigation product guide-lines required by most insurance companies for discounts on premiums. Even if these companies offer to sign a wind-mitigation form on your behalf, any credits you might mistakenly receive could eventually be reassessed by your insurance company. Further any claim you make could be denied because of inadequate protection.

Although window films serve many good purposes, as a consumer you deserve to be fully informed as to exactly what type of protection they can or cannot provide. Not only so that you are making the wisest use of your investment, but so that whatever investment you do make meets your expectations as to the level of protection required to protect your property and loved ones.
